This will be based on the type of insights you’re looking for. Studies have found that 5 users will give you around 80% of the data you need, however we structured our system to be as flexible as possible:
If you want to know what your users think of your site, whether it’s clear who your site is for and what you do, as well as how trustworthy your site looks, then a First Impressions test with 3 testers would be all you need.
If you want to test the basic navigability of your site to identify bugs and find out where users are having problems, then a Search and Find test with 5 testers would be best.
If you have a specific product or area of your website that you know you’re having trouble with, then a deeper search through a Conversion Path test with 5 testers would be the best option.
If you want a real in-depth look into your site’s functionality and navigability, then a Deep Dive test with 9 testers would be what you need.
